Jane N’ The Jungle have grown massively over the past few years; rallying a like-minded audience around them, the project champions an explosive, hard-hitting brand of 90s-flavoured alt-rock, punk euphoria and metal distortions, an aural formula that’s ever-evolving and getting better after each release. We last wrote about the Phoenix-based rockers in February, celebrating ‘Disco Lemonade’ as “a crushing, evocative and decadent piece”.
Today, Jane N’ The Jungle return with the next chapter in their long musical history. ‘Parasite’ is a surprising offering, in terms of style and overall formula. Embracing gloomy electronic beats, the record goes from intimate, dark verses to all-out, otherworldly choruses, with a wealth of drums and guitars drowning listeners into a fierce and gritty sonic universe. Frontwoman Jodan White does a good job on the vocals, once again showcasing her sharp, striking tone.
Co-founder and guitarist Brian Dellis completes the lineup, with further production help provided by renowned alchemist Cameron Mizell (Machine Gun Kelly, Avril Lavigne, Jelly Roll). Delving deeper into the inspiration behind the single, June N’ The Jungle explain: “It’s about the powers of AI and how it’s turning us all into a ‘Parasite’.”
