It’s easy to feel completely hypnotised when stepping into Orrin’s nuanced artistic universe. A self-declared “collective conscious and cyborg sent by a higher civilization to warn humans about the incoming apocalypse”, the American creative moves outside of music’s conventional boundaries, championing a hyper eclectic outlook built on modern genres and boundary-pushing lyricism.
‘Bad Habits’ is one of Orrin’s latest efforts, a slice of quirky and diverse ‘hip-house’ goodness, as they so boldly define it. A blend of hip-hop, dance, and electronic music, the single feels inherently contemporary and forward-thinking. With a hypnotic female vocal asking to be brought back to life, Orrin reflects on self-sabotage and the need for change.
The video, set in a Lego NYC under alien attack, follows him battling addiction and identity. It’s a bold, cinematic entry into a new musical chapter. ‘Bad Habits’ is taken from the project’s upcoming album ‘Lost in Translation’.
