Forrest Hill Gears Up for Upcoming Album with ‘Flow Like a River’

A gifted songwriter and enlightened lyricist, Forrest Hill is not your average rocker. Yes, he might be dealing in elegant guitar riffs and an overall fuzzy sonic picture, yet his material is incredibly nuanced and inspired. Take, for instance, ‘Flow Like a River’; originally released last November, the single finds its unique character in spiritual and philosophical imagery, particularly drawn from the Buddhist concept of the Three Poisons, aka greed, hatred, and delusion.

Focused on the hidden danger of negative thinking patterns, the song shines a light on how frequent pessimism can influence the hope and brightness of everyday life, making it all a big, toxic mess. We feel as though this is a particularly resonant message in this time and age, with all the gloominess manifesting around us. From a sonic standpoint, ‘Flow Like a River’ is rather malleable and rock-flavoured, with longtime producer J. Christopher Thomas helping Forrest Hill along the way.

The single anticipates an upcoming album, ‘Beyond the Veil, expected for July 11th. Speaking about the inspiration behind the ‘Flow Like a River’, the American creative explains: “Positioned at the album’s midpoint, the song represents a crucial turning point in the musical journey from confronting personal demons toward greater balance and acceptance.”
