Led to Ruin Return with Gloomy, Hard-Hitting Single ‘Undertow’

Hailing from Louisiana, Led to Ruin are a band on a mission. Debuting in 2023 and with six singles to their name so far, the group has already made a name for themselves among the metal community, both on a local and online level. The American outfit champions a rather gloomy, decadent outlook, a fitting identity for a project born out of the COVID pandemic. Simply, Led to Ruin make music drenched in darkness and chaos, fury and rebellion.

‘Undertow’ is the group’s latest effort, a slice of punchy, striking metal and hard rock prowess delivered by the band’s signature massive distortions and relentless drums. In it, keen listeners will be faced with a fiery declaration of independence and resilience, with Led to Ruin grabbing negativity and problems by the balls, “embodying the chaos and triumph of life’s battles”, as they so eloquently explain.

‘Undertow’ follows up from last year’s ‘Parasites’, and by now, a common theme seems to have emerged. First of all, the band’s commitment to low melodic registries and earthy, raw vocals is quite impressive, creating a hypnotising aesthetic that’s hard to resist for any guitar-driven fan out there. Secondly, every release seems to grow in quality and lyrical gravitas, making us hopeful for a glorious future.
