We weren’t aware of Hang The Line YouTube channel, but we are now, and it certainly looks pretty interesting! Featuring rapper and hip-hop artists singing into an old-school telephone box, the channel has lately teamed up with American creative E.Z.O. for a wonderful rendition of ‘HDYL’, an uplifting and playful R&B ballad with a certain Afrobeat flair. Originally released just more than a year ago, the song is likely to find a new lease of life following the Hang The Line performance.
Built over bouncy and electrifying production, ‘HDYL’ sees E.Z.O. taking a lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek perspective on the ‘male gaze’, perhaps hoping to instil reflections and understated introspection in any keen listener.
